ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

We are a small, but mighty non-denominational congregation of people who love Jesus and each other.  We do our best with God's help to live according to what the Bible teaches.  We welcome newcomers to join in as we study the Word, we pray, we sing, we remember what Jesus said and did, and we work together to make the world a better place.   We aren't perfect, but together we are being perfected into the likeness of Jesus.

THE MISSION

Our church founders cleverly used the name of the town in which our church building sits to create our mission objectives.  These define our our approach to initiatives.

W = Worship

IN = Intimacy

D = Discipleship

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Word of God: We believe that the 39 Books of the Old Testament and 27 Books of the New Testament of the Christian Bible are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 2 Peter 1:21).

The Trinity: We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they perform distinct but harmonious functions in the work of creation, redemption, providence, and sanctification (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 2:10-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:18).

God the Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who believe in Jesus Christ, His Son. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 147; Matthew 7:11; John 3:16, 4:24, 17:11).

Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, sent by God the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His eternal existence, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-5, 20; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 3:21-25; Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 2:1, 5:20).

Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (Psalm 139:7- 12, John 15:26, 16:7-11; Galatians 5:16-23; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 3:4-7).

Satan: We believe Satan is a created being who rebelled against God, led a host of angelic beings in the rebellion, is active in the world, and will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire. The true believer need not fear him "for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”, 1 John 4:4b (English Standard Version). (Isaiah 14:12-14; John 8:42-44, 12:31; 2 Corinthians 11:14; 1 Peter 5:8; 1 John 4:4b; Ephesians 6:12; Revelation 12:7-10).

Transformation: We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe the Holy Spirit transforms those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior (Romans 3:21-25, 6:23, 10:8-13; Titus 3:4-7).

The Universal Church: We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body, of which Jesus Christ is the Head and all believers in Jesus Christ are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a community of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized and associated with worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world (Acts 2:41-47; Romans 16:16; Matthew 28:18-21).

The Church as a House of Prayer: We believe that the church must be a House of Prayer and that corporate prayer must be an integral part of the church’s regular rhythms of worship and service (Isaiah 56:7b; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Colossians 4:2; Jeremiah 29:12; Romans 12:12, Matthew 18:20; Acts 2:42).

Christian Conduct: We believe that Christians will desire to live for the glory of God and the well-being of others, that their conduct should be blameless before the world, that they should be faithful stewards, and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Titus 2:11-15; 1 John 5:18; Matthew 22:36-40; Colossians 3:12-17).

The Ordinances: We believe the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Christ instituted the Lord's Supper for the commemoration of His death and it should be open to all believers in Christ. We believe these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Religious Liberty: We believe every human being has a direct relationship with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith. Therefore, the church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority (Matthew 22:21b; Acts 5:29).

Last Things: We believe in the personal visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal blessedness and joy of the righteous, and the endless punishment and suffering of the wicked (1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 50-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 20:11-21:7).

OUR STORY: AN HISTORICAL CHURCH WITH AN EYE TO THE FUTURE

This church building was built in the late 1800's and is now the oldest standing church in Windsor, Colorado.  This sturdy building has seen many people come through its doors over the years.  So many events have happened here - weddings, baptisms, dedications, classes, services, celebrations, and yes, funerals.  From the start of life to the end, this has been a place of solace and support.

The good news is that there's no end in sight!  As long as the Lord tarries from returning to take His people home, we will endeavor to make this little corner in Windsor, Colorado, a little piece of heaven on Earth.  We say the Lord's prayer every week, asking the the Lord's will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.  We can start here and now to fulfill that prayer.

If you are looking for a place to be loved and to love, please come spend some time with us.  Our building is located at 530 Walnut Street in Windsor, Colorado.  We gather every Sunday at 10:00 AM.  You'll find our services to be simple and to the point.  We mostly just want to be together and to make Jesus known.  He is our Lord and our friend.  He comes to be with us whenever we come to be with Him.  Won't you come, too?
